UlaanBaatar Mongolia 2005

Peter Marsh introduced Michael to the Bayar Brothers. They were experienced Morin Khuur or Horse Head Fiddle kakers expertly crafting then Since 1994.

Their small workshop was kitted out with all the essentials required to make the instrument. Which were well crafted and in their hands sounded good. They were developing a strong relationship with Japan so the prices reflected this. When I returned to UB from Chandman I introduced Doug King-Smith to them but their prices were too much for his budget.

They were keen on hearing my Turkish New (End blown flute) which I had brought with me.
