July 21st – 23rd : Michael managed to contact Sukhrob Nazimov who was coordinating a festival at The Central Asian Academy of Contemporary Music in Bishkek. Members of the Uzbek based contemporary classicalOmnibus ensemble led workshops exploring traditional music from central asia and finding ways and methods of incorporating these into contemporary and experimental music for performance and composition. Sukhrob was happy that we could contribute to this by running workshops and giving performances. We worked with young traditional/classical musicians from Kazakhstan,Tajikistan,Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and members of the Omnibus ensemble.
