Mongolian Khöömii Overtone Singing
Individual Lessons
Khöömii is an amazing style of overtone or harmonic singing where one person sings two or more distinct pitches at the same time. It originates among the nomads of the central Asian plateau, particularly the Altai and Sayan mountain regions of Mongolia and Tuva.
Learn an authentic traditional Mongolian technique.
Listen to your own overtones as you discover the unknown depths and heights of your own voice.
The 1 hour lessons that Michael or Candida give are designed to integrate all aspects of the Mongolian Tagnain Khőőmii technique, from the method of singing harmonic overtones, the important Mongolian root sound quality,
melodic exercises to the cultural context of Khöömii. Other Khöömii styles are also incorporated
Body, breathe and voice warms ups will prepare the student for each lesson.
