Michael Ormiston & Candida Valentinio

Michael and Candida have collaborated for the past 17 years. Onternationally, they have performed Concerts, led Sacred Sound Journeys, run Mongolian Khöömii Overtone Singing, Symphonic Gong, Tibetan Singing Bowl, Soundtransformation, Bija Mantra & Mandala Making Workshops Internationally. They give Therapeutic Sound massages and have released over 10 CDs together.

Eye Music Colourscape

For the past 15 year Michael has performed traditional, experimental, contemporary, live electro-acoustic and improvisational music both as solo and with many musicians, performance artists and dancers including Hyperyak, Ansuman Biswas, Even Parker..

He is the principal music & sound workshop leader for Colourscape working with people from the age of 3 to 100!. He specializes in working with special needs children/adults & is currently working with elderly people with Dementia and Mental health issues.

Hyperyak are Michael Ormiston, Lawrence Casserley, Simon Desorgher & Jeff Higley. This unusual group performs music linking the most distant parts of the world. Classical Alto Flute, South American Pan Pipes Panpipes, Mongolian Overtone Singing, Tibetan Singing Bowls, Chinese Wind Gongs, African Thumb Pianos, Australian Digeridoo and…All transformed live in performance by computers into a new world of sound.

Jeff Higley

Jeff Higley is a sculptor, musicians, writer and public dreamer. Michael has worked with Jeff on many projects the most recent being Spore  a mutli-disciplined Sound and space project conceived and designed by Jeff working with composer Michael Parsons and 4 dancers, 3 musicians, a vocalist and an engineer, performed in the Colourscape structure. Another Time is a darkly poetic mask dance piece exploring a world ancient and mythological, resonant with contemporary environmental and ecological concerns.

Jem Finer’s Longplayer

Michael & Candida Valentino were consulted by Jem Finer the composer of Longplayer to help realise

the first live performance of an  extract of Longplayer at the London Roundhouse in 2009.

And are currently working with him to realise a vocal performance of the piece.

Harmonic Voicings

Harmonic Voicings is a unique collaboration between French Horn and Alphorn player Martin Mayes and Overtone and Undertone Singers Michael Ormiston and Candida Valentino. The trio exploits the magical sounds of horn and voice

by diving into harmonics, into the innermost depths of sound. The sound world they work with also includes

 the Morin Khuur (Mongolian Horse head Fiddle), the Tibetan oboe, Norwegian Harmonic Flutes,

Tibetan Singing Bowls, Bells, Gongs, Conch Shells, tubes and whirlies.

His mission – to mix the cerebral and illusive cosmological vibrations of Indian Raga,

with the mother earth rhythms of Niyabinghi drumming that were surfacing in England in the guise of Dub Reggae
